Teenagers and Tanning Beds
Yep, tanning beds again are the focus of attention when it comes to skin cancer for new studies are showing that teenagers who love using them raise their chances of getting skin cancers by as much as 75%. The study in the UK shows that youth’s who frequently use these tanning salons/beds are more likely to develop a malignant form of skin cancer which raises another point the risks associated with their use. The statistics that came out, also showed that more women than men use tanning booths to improve their looks and skin tone. Harmful UV which these booths produce artificially are more dangerous than the sun’s natural rays (but it does not undermine the dangers of any form of UV) and can even cause eye problems due to the direct and close proximity to the UV light source. Researchers have also found that these booths produce UV rays that are 15% stronger than the sun’s rays during midday.
